The restoration of Whitstable’s historic Oyster Yawl is progressing well. When completed, 40% of sailings will be reserved for community use, including the young, the disadvantaged, and the disengaged.
The Charity has removed a great deal of rotten wood and a new oak frame has been built along the length of the boat. Each piece has been cut to fit the curves of the hull and attached to the enormous wooden keel.
Now we need your help with purchasing new timber for the deck. Please donate for any of the items listed below:
Quarter swan Larch decking (projected total cost £6,414)
- 79.50 for 3 metres
- £159 for 6 metres
Oak covering board (projected total cost £2,546)
- £425 for 4.1 metres
Jefferys marine No. 2 pitch (projected total cost £380)
£190 per 25kg tin
Caulking cotton (projected total cost £360)
- £12 per bale
